Episode 129: Facts, Figures and the Future of the Homeless in COS

This week we sit down with Andrew Phelps, the City of Colorado Springs’s Homelessness Prevention and Response Coordinator for the City of Colorado Springs. In his role with the City Andrew evaluates best practices, provides project management assistance to community non-profits, acts as a liaison between community organizations and City leadership, and keeps elected officials informed on issues related to homelessness.

Andrew takes Darcie and Jeff through the city’s current approach to the homeless population and discusses some of the new initiatives that will be going into place in 2018. Andrew also addresses some of the facts and figures behind homelessness and how the city is helping coordinate private parties and non-profits to address the housing situation in COS.

A very in depth discussion that tackles one of the most pressing issues in the city, and the country. Enjoy the show!
