Episode 163: A Whiskey Origin Story

291 Title

291 Whiskey is making a mark in Colorado Springs and at the international level – recently bringing home a major award for its rye whiskey.

But it the story and history behind 291 Whiskey that makes this COS based company stand out. This week we sit down with Michael Myers, the founder of 291 Whiskey, to talk about how the 9/11 terrorist attacks made him into a craft distiller, how his upbringing and professional background made him uniquely suited to start a distillery and where he sees craft distilling in COS evolving.

We are joined mid-way through the show by Lauren, 291 Whiskey’s communications director and her new role with the team.

We talk a lot about the 291 Tasting Room in the show. Make sure to check it out!
